Sikorski criticizes Nawrocki: this is a departure from Lech Kaczyński's good practice

Due to the fact that Poland entered the Billion Economy Club, I sought the United States, being the presidency of the G20 group in 2026, invited us to this group – said Deputy Prime Minister, head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski after meeting the Secretary of State of the USA Marco Rubio.

– We have the right not only as one of the 20 largest economies in the world, but also as a country that presents a political and intellectual argument, because we are the country that has made a successful transformation from planned economy to the free economy – added Sikorski during a briefing for journalists after meeting Rubio in Miami on Tuesday.

Sikorski: I did not get an answer from the KPRP regarding the possibility of accompanying the president in conversations with Trump

On Tuesday, Sikorski gave journalists after talking to the Secretary of State of the US Marek Rubio that their meeting concerned the “current agenda of very good Polish-American relations” and the issue of “Review of the presence of American forces in Europe.” “I am convinced that President Karol Nawrocki will support us tomorrow in the White House,” he added, referring to the planned meeting of the Polish president with the American leader Donald Trump.

– His (Nawrocki – PAP )'s success, special relations with the Magician movement and personally with President Trump will be whether the United States will increase their presence in Poland. And it would be a lack of success if they reduced it – said the deputy prime minister.

Asked if he obtained an answer from the President's Chancellery regarding pReleased to the accompaniment to President Nawrocki in his conversations with Trump, he replied that he did not get such an answer, which – according to him – is a departure from good practice from the time when Lech Kaczyński was the president, and when he was Andrzej Duda.

I do not understand why the President's advisers sow confusion and move away from practices that serve the success of the president's visits, for which of course we keep our fingers crossed – added Sikorski.

He also reminded that “Poland is one” and therefore in matters that are for her the most important for her, i.e. “matters of war and peace, matters of relations with our most important ally, should speak with one voice.” – And this voice is determined by the Council of Ministers – he noted.

Earlier, Sikorski and Rubio handed the Solidarity award in Miami. Lech Wałęsa Cuban oppositionist Berti Soler Fernandez.
