Vanghelie defends himself after Oana Mizil was complained about violence and threats: “She wasn't even at home. I quarreled with my wife. I didn't go to shoot someone”

A new scandal has Marian Vanghelie, the former mayor of Sector 5 in Bucharest, in the foreground. Oana Mizil, her former wife, recently complained to the police, accusing him of having come to her home, where she had threatened her with death and would have manifested violently.
In an intervention on Tuesday, September 2, at a television station, Marian Vanghelie exposed his own variant in relation to the incident that was chosen with a new criminal case, but also with a restriction order against him.
“I went to see the little girl. That day, she wasn't even at home. I quarreled with my wife. I wasn't an offender, I didn't go to shoot someone“, Declared Marian Vanghelie.
The incident occurred on Sunday, August 31, around 12.30, when Marian Vanghelie went to the house where Oana Mizil and her mother live to see her daughter, who, following the divorce, remained at her ex-wife.
According to investigators, Oana Mizil's mother called 112 and complained about the former son -in -law that she is scandal and manifests violently.
The police arrived at the scene, who opened a criminal case for threat and issued on behalf of the former mayor a provisional protection order, valid for five days. However, the authorities have decided that the monitoring with an electronic bracelet is not required.
The former mayor admits that there was a heated discussion at the gate and that the tone was raised, but he blames the mother of his ex -wife: “The mother -in -law was impertinent,” he said. At the same time, Vanghelie also acknowledged tense replicas on the phone with Oana Mizil, but claims that it is not “a public danger”. “I am not an offender, I do not represent a danger to anyone”he said, mentioning that he is already discussing with his lawyers to challenge the protection order.
This is not the first confrontation between the two former partners. In July 2021, Oana Mizil and Marian Vanghelie had a dispute that resulted in a provisional protection order, after the woman suffered minor injuries. Later, the two reconciled, but their relationship broke again.
Thus, the episode now brings to the public attention the persistent tensions between Oana Mizil and Marian Vanghelie, each part having its own version on what happened.
