Prosecutor General Adam Bodnar appeared in his positions on two protests against the president's election with applications to inspect voting cards in 1472 regional election committees – PG spokeswoman PG prosecutor Anna Adamiak said on Wednesday.

As prosecutor, Adamiak, as part of the procedure for recognizing protests against the validity of the President of the Republic of Poland, the Supreme Court has so far transferred PG 321 election protests. “In response, the Prosecutor General presented 268 positions regarding these protests,” added PG spokeswoman. According to the SN, PG informed so far about the dates of five meetings regarding electoral protests and about the date of one meeting, within which the voting cards were inspected.
Pursuant to the regulations, the Prosecutor General “implements its statutory competences by presenting the Supreme Court positions regarding electoral protests regarding the validity of the election of the President of the Republic of Poland.” Already last week, PG spokeswoman reported that 25 prosecutors were appointed in PK.
According to prosecutor Adamiak, among such positions for the Supreme Court presented on Wednesday, PG referred, among others for election protests brought by Krzysztof Kontka and Joanna Staniszkis. As the spokeswoman of the PG reminded, those bringing these protests raised the allegations against the validity of the president's election, based on scientific analysis, which – in their opinion – indicates the occurrence of election anomalies divided into various categories.
In the justification of these protests, according to PG spokeswoman, four categories of election anomalies were awarded to be able to observe in relation to some committees. It is about excessive support for one of the candidates, the unnatural increase in the number of votes between the Turks, reversing the result against local trends and an incredible decrease in the number of votes for one of the candidates. “Protests made the attention that among the regional committees in which they were to be irregularly counting when counting the votes, there are also those against which the Supreme Court ordered the conversion of votes again” – added prosecutor Adamiak.
She also reported that “the Prosecutor General found it justified and the result of the election result of some of the allegations contained in the protests in question-in terms of incorrect determination of the results of voting by the regional election committees in Krakow, Oleśno, Mińsk Mazowiecki, Strzelce Opolskie, Grudziądz, Gdańsk, Gdańsk, Kamienna Góra, Bielsko-Biała and Mysiadło.”
“Due to the content of the allegations contained in the protests, and the accompanying argumentation, PG appeared – in both positions related to these protests – with conclusions to inspect voting cards in 1472 regional electoral committees” – emphasized PG spokeswoman.
PG justified his speech in this case that “the authors of the protests attached materials testifying to possible irregularities in the voting process.” “Their allegations were based on a scientifically verifiable method, which allowed the Prosecutor General to recognize that there is a high probability of real irregularities in the work of the indicated election committees,” said PG spokeswoman.
Meanwhile – according to the information contained in the SN database, confirmed by the press team of this court – the protest formulated by Krzysztof Kontka was left on Wednesday by the Supreme Court without further running. In turn, the second protest – Joanna Staniszkis – awaits the deadline.
Prok. Adamiak indicated, however, that the election protests brought by the context and Staniszkis were forwarded by the Supreme Court to the General Prosecutor on Monday, June 23, while setting a two -day deadline for presenting the position, i.e. – in accordance with the principles of calculating the deadlines set out in the Code of Civil Procedure – by the end of Wednesday 25 June.
“The PG position on Krzysztof's protest was received by the Supreme Court on June 25 at 14:05, while the position on the protest of Joanna Staniszkis – the same day at 15:19” – specified the spokeswoman of PG.
After examining all protests, based on the report on the election presented by the PKW, the Supreme Court, in the composition of the entire Chamber of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs, decides on the validity of the election of the President of the Republic of Poland. The resolution in this case is collapsed at an open meeting within 30 days of making the results of the election to the public.
On Wednesday, the Supreme Court announced in a communiqué that the meeting regarding the adoption of a resolution regarding the validity of the election was designated for the next Tuesday, July 1 this year.
Last week, Bodnar stated that the judgments issued by the judges of the Extraordinary Control Chamber would not be able to be considered in an independent and impartial way. He added that the judges of the Supreme Court Chamber should rule on election protests and the validity of the election.
And the President of the Supreme Court Małgorzata Manowska assessed that all public statements that undermine the constitutional competences of the Chamber of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs of the Supreme Court to decide on the validity of the election of the President of the Republic of Poland result from ignorance of the law or are motivated by the intention of political destabilization.
