US authorities acted in force after Sorana Cîrstea was robbed at the US Open

Sorana Cîrstea (35 years, 112 WTA) was imposed in the final at Cleveland on July 23, defeating Ann Li (25 years, 69 WTA), with a score of 6-2, 6-4.

Just a week away from this success, our athlete has made a big ad on social networks. Located at a luxury hotel in New York City, the Cleveland trophy obtained by Sorana was stolen. The unpleasant situation took place during the period when it evolved at the US Open.
“Anyone who stole the trophy from Cleveland from room 314 from @thefiftysonesta (the hotel name to which it was staying in New York), please give it back!

According to CBS Sports, the hotel representatives got in touch with the authorities. An investigation was opened and new details are expected.
“We are in close connection with our esteemed guest in regard to the reported object as a missing.Our safety and security director, a former NYPD detective, personally supervises the investigation. We treat the problem with the highest seriousness and continue to collaborate directly with Mrs. Cirstea!“said the general manager of the hotel, Simon Chapman.
