The decisions of the mayor of Munich Dominik Krause (Greens) were a reaction to persistent complaints of residents of the university district. They complained about the night noise, piles of garbage and other problems caused by drunk people.

“The interests of the inhabitants are completely justified and it is unacceptable to the situation in which glasses of glass are lying on the pavements, and the yards and entrances to buildings are used as toilets” – emphasized Krause, quoted by “Muenchner Merkur”. The mayor also appealed to the owners of kiosks for greater commitment to maintaining cleanliness around their shops. He also stipulated that if the situation worsens again, it is possible to return a ban on selling beer in bottles after 22.

Unlike other trade union countries in Bavaria, more severe regulations regarding the activities of night kiosks apply. The act allows kiosks to sell after 20. Only a limited range of goods that do not include chips and strong alcohol. (PAP)
