A marine mine discovered on the beach in Vadu, destroyed by military divers

A marine contact mine was found on Sunday, August 31, on the beach in Vadu, Constanța and was safely neutralized by the EOD military divers of the Romanian Naval Forces.

Following the appeal, the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs secured the area, and the EOD military divers were sent immediately to the scene. They arrived around 19.15 and confirmed that this is a navy contact mine.
Neutralization of the mine
The explosive device was raised with the help of a special military utility vehicle and transported to the Capu Midia polygon. “This was neutralized by destruction around 8.30 “, the Ministry of National Defense said.
The operation ended without incident, the authorities underlining that such interventions are made with maximum attention to guarantee the safety of the population.
