Prosecutors from the Prosecutor's Office near the Bucharest Court announce a new arrest in the case of the 72-year-old anesthesiologist murdered in his home in Bucharest. According to the official statement sent on Tuesday, June 9, it is about the former cohabitant of the woman accused of murder, suspected of hiding and trying to sell the goods stolen from the victim's apartment.
Two months after the crime that shocked the capital, when a 72-year-old anesthesiologist was discovered stabbed in his apartment where a fire had broken out, the investigators determined that the woman accused of the crime also had an accomplice, his former concubine.
According to the prosecutors, the 46-year-old man is accused of concealment, after receiving several stolen goods from the victim's home, knowing very well where they came from.
The investigators say that, on the evening of March 31, 2026, immediately after committing the crime, the 39-year-old woman went to her ex-partner's home and left him some of the items taken from the doctor's apartment, including the victim's mobile phone, several watches and gold jewelry.
“On the evening of 31.03.2026, immediately after the crime was committed, the defendant investigated for the crime of murder went to the home of the defendant (a 46-year-old man) to keep the goods stolen from the victim's home. The defendant received the victim's mobile phone, as well as watches and gold jewelry stolen in the same circumstance, knowing the origin them, and later handed over part of the assets to his ex-concubine, for the purpose of capitalization.

“During 31.03-22.05.2026, based on the agreement reached with her former concubine regarding the capitalization of the assets, the defendant (a 49-year-old woman) received from him watches and gold jewelry stolen from the victim's home, knowing their origin, which she capitalized in part. Her role in the capitalization of the assets continued even after the other's departure from the country defendant, at his express request.
