North Korean leader Kim Jong promised “a beautiful life” to the families of “martyrs” who died fighting for Russia in the Ukraine war, the Phenian state press, who praised the bereaved families for the heroism of their sons and their spouses on Saturday, according to Reuters.
On Friday, Kim met the families of the soldiers and expressed his “pain because he failed to save the precious lives” of the fallen on duty, who sacrificed their lives to defend the country's honor, Kcna said.
The heroic facts of the soldiers and officers were possible due to the strength and courage that their families gave, who are “the most tenacious, patriotic and straight people in the world,” Kim told parents, wives and children, according to the regime news agency.
“They didn't even send me a short letter, but I think they entrusted their families, including those loved children,” Kim said, according to the quoted source.
The country “will give you a beautiful life in the country defended with the price of life,” he said.

The meeting was the most recent tribute to the North Korean forces that suffered heavy losses in the Kursk region of Russia, on the border with Ukraine, after Kim and Russian President Vladimir Putin acknowledged the troops in April after months of silence.
Kim is about to participate with Putin in a military parade in China next week, which marks the capitulation of Japan in World War II. It will be the third meeting of the two in two years, since they enormously intensified their military alliance.
The two countries did not publicly reveal the magnitude of the troops or losses suffered by the North Korean troops. According to the South Korean intelligence agency, about 600 soldiers were killed from a total of 15,000.
Western secret services estimate that the number of victims exceeds 6,000.
