“The Interior Minister of Ukraine Ihor Kłymenko and Prosecutor General Rusłan Krawczenko have just informed about the first known circumstances of gruesome murder in Lviv. Andrij Parubiji was killed. I express my sympathy to family and loved ones,” wrote Zelanski in the Telegram messenger.

“All necessary forces and funds were involved in the investigation and search for the perpetrator,” the president added.

Parubyj was the chairman of the Ukrainian Supreme Council in 2016-2019.

After the events, the prime minister of Ukraine Julia Swyrydenko took the floor. “Eternal rest, Andriju Volodymyr. You have always remained a patriot of Ukraine and made a great contribution to the construction of our state. My most sincere condolences for the family and loved ones” – she wrote on platform X. “This is a deep loss for the country. We must determine the circumstances of death and punish all guilty as soon as possible,” emphasized Swedenko.

Shots in Lviv. The former chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament is dead

Earlier, the media informed about the death of Parubija. The message was then confirmed by the head of the Lviv Maksym Kozycki regional administration. “A man who shot the former chairman of the Supreme Council Andriy Parubija is sought in the Lviv region. All services are involved,” Kozycki informed.

According to his account, Parubyj died before the arrival of an ambulance.

In turn, Mer Lviv Andriy Sadowy said that “it is crucial for law enforcement agencies to determine the perpetrator and the circumstances of the murder.”

“The terrible news for Lviv about the murder of Andriy Parubija. I submit honest condolences to the family and loved ones. Today, the most important thing is that law enforcement authorities find the perpetrator and set all circumstances. This is a matter of security in the country covered by war, where, as you can see, there are no completely safe places” – wrote the court in the telegram.

Mer Lviv turned to journalists and asked for understanding and refraining from additional comments. “Only law enforcement agencies are to act and speak. Eternal memory to Andrij,” he said.
