Polish soldier wounded in Lebanon. “A booby trap exploded”

The incident occurred on Sunday around 13/10, during a patrol by soldiers of the Polish Military Contingent in Lebanon on the route from the post to the base. A booby trap exploded near one of the off-road vehicles.

Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said that he had just been informed by the Operational Commander of the Armed Forces about the incident. More information was provided in a statement by the Operational Command of the Branches of the Armed Forces.
“The injured man was immediately transported to the base, where he was provided with specialized medical assistance. The soldier suffered minor head injuries that did not pose a threat to his life. The injured person is a non-commissioned officer of the 12th Mechanized Brigade,” the command said. The soldier's family was informed about the incident and the patrol participants received psychological support.
Polish soldiers carry out activities in Lebanon related to the mandate of the UN mission. The contingent consists of up to 250 soldiers.
