During the visit to the United States planned for September 3, the Polish president will talk to the American leader Donald Trump. Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on Wednesday that before his visit he would meet with Karol Nawrocki and that instructions and recommendations were prepared for the president. At a later briefing, the head of the Presidential International Policy Office Marcin informed that a letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reached the KPRP.

Leśkiewicz, when asked about this on Friday on television in WPOLSCE24, said that the president received “instructions that could be treated as a joke.”

– I honestly admit that the one -page document indicating key issues, which should be dealt with by President Karol Nawrocki during a conversation with US President Donald Trump, is an embarrassing position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – he assessed. In his opinion, there are no “specific tips”.

Asked what was found in this letter, Leśkiewicz said that in a letter consisting of one A4 format card, for example, the opinion that “the president should take care of Poland's interest in talks with President Donald Trump.” – Apparently so much Mr. Deputy Prime Minister, head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski, who probably receives relevant information from the head of the institution in Washington, Mr. Bogdan Klich – said Leśkiewicz.

According to him, it is definitely frivolous that the president, who goes to a meeting with the key ally of Poland, gets information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on one A4 page.

He assured that President Nawrocki would do without this position. – He knows how to represent the interests of Poland and Poles. However, it should be clearly emphasized that the lack of flow of information between the Presidential Palace and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is caused by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, should arouse deep anxiety in everyone – said the president's spokesman.

The Foreign Affairs spokesman Paweł Wroński pointed out in an earlier conversation with PAP that the president receives guidelines and guidelines from the government before foreign visits, because there could be two foreign policies of the state. He added that this document is not open. – The Constitution provides that the president represents Poland, but presents the position of state as a government, even if he disagreed with him. Therefore, he receives tips on how to present this position. There cannot be two foreign policies of one country – he emphasized.

Wroński also pointed out that in accordance with art. 146 of the Constitution, the government conducts the internal and foreign policy of Poland, and in accordance with Article 133 – the president cooperates in this respect with the Council of Ministers.

The visit to Washington planned for September 3 will be the first foreign visit of President Nawrocki. Last week, the head of the Chancellery of President Zbigniew Bogucki reported that talks in the United States will apply primarily to the issues of military and energy security of Poland, and in addition, the president plans to emphasize that both Russia and its leader Vladimir Putin “cannot be believed”.
