Who are the favorites for the position of prime minister after the presidential elections. Bargos

Ilie Bolojan is the name conveyed by several candidates for the presidential elections for the position of prime minister, but the chances of the current president-interim to reach the government, paradoxically, with the Ascension of the Coalition candidate, Crin Antonescu, in the opinion polls. Marcel Ciolacu could remain the prime minister, with two conditions: Crin Antonescu to win the election, and the PSD continues to support it, despite the deficit of trust. George Simion and Victor Ponta would install at the head of the Government people chosen first on the criterion of loyalty, political sources say from the surroundings of the two politicians.

The future president of Romania, to be elected on May 18, could also appoint a new prime minister, given that Marcel Ciolacu has a fragile majority in Parliament.

Ilie Bolojan, the current interim president, is the name promised by Nicușor Dan and Elena Lasconi for the head of the Government, if they will reach the Cotroceni Palace. But the appointment of Bolojan as prime minister involves harsh political negotiations. If Nicușor Dan wins the presidential elections, the new president either forces the resignation of Prime Minister Ciolacu, or orchestrates a censorship motion against the Government. Subsequently, the president makes a proposal as a prime minister, but he needs a parliamentary majority. Or, at this moment, a majority without PSD is impossible, according to parliamentary mathematics. Therefore, Nicușor Dan should first and foremost negotiate with PSD the formation of a new government. The scenario is also valid for Elena Lasconi.

Paradoxically, Ilie Bolojan's chances of reaching the government decrease with the ascension of the former party colleague, Crin Antonescu. The coalition candidate is placed in second place in several opinion polls, with high chances of winning the presidential final. But Crin Antonescu promised that he did not overthrow Marcel Ciolacu from the Victoria Palace if he will be elected president. In fact, Marcel Ciolacu is Antonescu's main supporter in the ruling coalition. And the PSD has contributed to the most money for the Common candidate's campaign, the data communicated by the AEP shows. The Social Democrats turned over 15 million lei in Crin Antonescu's accounts, while the Liberals contributed with only 2 million lei.

Therefore, if Crin Antonescu arrives the President of Romania, he will keep Marcel Ciolacu prime minister. Provided that the PSD leaders continue to support Marcel Ciolacu at the head of the party and the Government. At this moment, there are PSD leaders who would like Marcel Ciolacu's massage, on the grounds that he has eroded strongly in the last two years of governance, but the party is waiting for the result of the presidential elections.

George Simion, first in opinion polls, could call Călin Georgescu at the head of the government. Although he is criminally investigated and the CCR forbidden the presidential candidacy, Călin Georgescu can be called, legally, the prime minister, provided that a parliamentary majority. However, sources inside gold claim that George Simion wants Marius Lulea, first vice-president of the party and his former employer. Lulea sponsors a construction company, where George Simion was employed before becoming a parliamentarian.

Victor Ponta, placed in some surveys in the second position, so with a chance of reaching the Cotroceni Palace, he would like a technocrat prime minister, sources from his political entourage say. “Ponta wants to attend the government meetings and have a prime minister to resonate. Either he will choose a technocrat, not being kept in the party leash, or will name someone from the PSD, who will take over the party leader ”support the sources quoted. One of Victor Ponta's variants for the head of the government would be Eugen Teodorovici, former Minister of Finance, one of his close friends.
