In Krasnoyarsk, a sentence was sentenced to men who tried to sell mercury to foreigners.

The court found them guilty of illegal circulation of toxic substances (part 2 of article 234 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), but decided not to send them to the colony. For men, they chose conditional imprisonment for a period of 1 year 10 months to 2 years with a test period of 2 years to each.

The prosecutor’s office reminded that two 40-year-old Krasnoyarsk residents tried to sell metal mercury to foreigners in the winter of 2025. One of them took out a toxic metal from a friend. He kept a cylinder with mercury since 2018 in the pantry of a multi -storey building at the request of another friend.

The second participant in the transaction found buyers. Clients were foreigners known in the field of illegal trade in a dangerous substance. 2 kg of mercury they were ready to buy for 20 thousand rubles.

The deal was prevented, as law enforcement officers learned about it.
