During meetings with Volodymyr Zelnski and Vladimir Putin, the American president tried to repeatedly play the role of an intermediary in peaceful conversations between Ukraine and Russia, but, as he admits, it was not possible to lead to a breakthrough. – Every conversation with him is good, but then, unfortunately, the bombs fall on Kiev or somewhere else, and I am mad about it – said Donald Trump, referring to the Russian president.
– I think we'll end this war. It's difficult, but strange things happen in the war – added the President of the United States. Trump at the same time expressed the desire to organize a meeting between Zelanski and Putin, but admitted that eventually he could not come to him.
– They really don't like each other. To be honest, it seemed to me that it would be easier to reconcile Russia and Ukraine. However, it turns out that there are serious personality conflicts between Putin and Zelanski – said Donald Trump. After meeting with the American leader, Wołodymyr, Zełenski emphasized Ukraine's readiness to take talks that will have to include issues such as the kidnapping of Ukrainian children by Russia and the return of territories that remain under occupation.
Security guarantees for Ukraine from over 30 countries
As the President of Ukraine pointed out, Over 30 countries, including European countries, Japan and Canada have expressed readiness to support Ukraine in ensuring security. – We want to stop seeing people dying – emphasizes Donald Trump, adding that the United States will support Ukraine, but will not send soldiers to its territory.
Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Lavrov said that the meeting of leaders has not yet been prepared, accusing Zelanski of rejecting key talks. Meanwhile, Ukraine appeals to partners to introduce additional sanctions against Russia.
