In the absence of a total consensus on the 2 fiscal measures package, the coalition leaders are seen on a new meeting on Tuesday. What was left untransored

After the Monday evening meeting only one thing was certain: a new meeting is needed. The leaders of the PSD, PNL, USR, UDMR and national minorities meet on Tuesday, from 5:00 pm, to discuss a series of measures to be included in the package 2 of fiscal measures, sources from the parties forming the ruling alliance told HotNews.

The Bolojan government will take responsibility in Parliament on the second package of fiscal measures most likely on Friday. There are three days when the opposition can submit censorship motion. If the motion falls, the measures are considered adopted by the Parliament.

The Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, also participated in the meeting of the Coalition leaders, to present figures related to the country's budget, according to Hotnews information.

What the leaders of Coalition Tuesday discussed: Tax measures and local public administration

At the end of the meeting on Monday, the leaders of the parties that form the government established that a new meeting is needed, because they have not been able to reach an agreement on all measures that should be included in package two.

At the meeting on Tuesday at 5:00 pm, which will take place in the Government, the coalition representatives will discuss, to reach a final agreement, about the measures that the Executive will take in the local public administration and about certain fiscal measures, according to HotNews sources. A subject in the tax area that the coalition must agree is the share capital of the companies.

In the meeting on Monday, a series of thresholds were proposed, according to HotNews sources, but the subject was not cut and will be resumed in Tuesday. Digi24.ro writes that this is the following steps:

  • 500 lei share capital for companies with a turnover of up to 400,000 lei,
  • 5,000 lei for those companies with turnover between 400,000 lei and 7 million lei;
  • 90,000 lei share capital for companies with a turnover of over 7 million lei.

Tensioned atmosphere in the coalition because of the elections for the Bucharest City Hall

The elections for the position of general mayor have created new tensions in the ruling coalition.

The law stipulates that elections must be organized 90 days after the vacation of the job. The position of general mayor was vacated on May 26, when Nicușor Dan took the president's oath. The term of 90 days stipulated by the law expired therefore on August 24, 2025.

The date of elections must be set by the Government-of which PSD is also part-after a political decision to be taken in a coalition meeting. So far, the submitted version – by the USR and Ilie Bolojan – in these meetings for organizing the elections for the City Hall was November 2025, but the PSD wants them to take place in the spring of next year.

Cătălin Drulă, who has not yet been officially elected, in an internal race, a candidate of the USR for Bucharest, said on Monday that “PSD does not decide if we have elections in Bucharest”.

“We have a law for this. And it is a democratic right of people to choose the mayor. Sorin Grindeanu said today that it is not a good time to respect the law and that the PSD does not want to choose the elections.

In a reaction on his Facebook account, PSD senator Daniel Zamfir said that “the country was swollen”.

“He wants, dead, baked, to keep choices now in Bucharest, that he just didn't put in vain with Nicușor! What these boys forget, is that I am a 10% party and do not decide what to happen and when to happen,” Zamfir wrote.
