The heads of the parliamentary factions of the Social Democratic Party (LSDP), the group of dawn of Niemna and the faction of the Union of Farmers, Green (Lvżs) and Christian families (AWPL-ZCHR), which includes three deputies of Polish nationality, signed a new coalition agreement on Monday.

According to the agreement, the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party will manage nine departments, Dawn Nemunas received three ministries, the Union of Farmers and Green and the election campaign of Poles in Lithuania – the Association of Christian families will have two ministries to divide. According to the announcement, the Ministry of Justice will fall.

The chairman of AWPL-ZChR, MEP Waldemar Tomaszewski, does not comment on the issue of positions yet. He emphasizes, however, that the priority of his party “is concern for an ordinary citizen, social justice, implementation of pro -family policy and the implementation of the principle of not connecting politics with business.”

Tomaszewski reminds that the party he managed has already been part of the ruling coalitions three times – in 2000, 20006 and 2016 – and the current MPs: Rita Tamaszuniene, Jarosław Narkiewicz and Czesław Olszewski are experienced politicians who have been working in the Sejm for several terms, they also held managerial positions in the resorts.

The new ruling coalition in Lithuania was formulated after the fall of the Gintautas Paluckas government, which is accused of corruption. The existing centrolevil ruling coalition was created by three groups: LSDP (a year ago in the parliamentary elections it won 52 seats in a 141-person Sejm), Dawn of Niemna (20 seats) and the Democratic Union “in the name of Lithuania” (14 seats).

As a result of political negotiations, the Democratic Association “in the name of Lithuania” was not invited to the coalition, because he refused to cooperate with Dawn Nemunas, often referred to as a populist group. The Union of Farmers and Green joined the coalition, which, together with AWPL-ZCHR, has 11 seats in the parliament.

The previous ruling coalition had 86 votes in a 141-person Sejm. Miła 82 will be present.

The first task of the new ruling warehouse will be approval for the position of Prime Minister Ruginne, a social democratic candidate approved by President Gitanas Naeda. Voting will take place on Tuesday.

After changing the ruling coalition, there will also be changes to the managerial positions of parliament. The current chairman of the Sejm Saulius Skvernelis, leader, the Democratic Association “In the name of Lithuania” has already announced that he would give up his position. They will be covered by the current first vice -chairman of the parliament, social democrat Juozas Olekas.

The new ruling coalition in priority tasks includes safety and defense, business support, improving the living conditions of families and upbringing children, investments in roads and energy. He undertakes to support Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression and on its way to integration with the European Union and NATO.
