At the next phase, however, after a sharp counterattack, Real Madrid closed the match. Entering the field during the second act, Vinicius recovered the ball and headed for the hosts gate, after which he served the ball perfectly to Kylian Mbappe, who managed to “double” with an execution at the long corner.
The final score was set in the extensions of the match, more precisely in the third additional minute, Vinicius being the one who closed the table with a shot inside the box.
Thus, Xabi Alonso's band has accumulated six points and equalized Villarreal and Barcelona at the top of the La Liga standings.
In the next stage of La Liga, Real Madrid will receive a visit to Mallorca, while Oviedo will also play on his own ground, against Real Sociedad.
