The German Federal Intelligence Service (BND) presented a spy game at Gamescom computer games in Cologne in the hope that “BND Legends – Operation BlackBox” will attract those willing to work in an interview – DPA agency said on Thursday.

For now, you can play the game only at the BND stand, operating at the fair open on Wednesday, but the interview is going to make it available in the future on the gaming platform.
The stand visitors can try the game in which they play a secret agent sent to the fictitious state of Bethulan to prevent cyber attack. The player must defeat the enemy military complex and be able to hide from reconnaissance drones. Concentration and good memory are also required: the hero must remember the numeric code for the lock. Unlike real espionage, unsuccessful attempts can be repeated indefinitely – DPA noted.

BND spokeswoman Julia Linner said in an interview with DPA that the interview, like other employers, was looking for qualified candidates.
There are similarities between the people we would like to have in our ranks, and guests of Gamescom: they are familiar with technology, like to play various roles, take various identities, fulfill missions and discover secrets – she said.
