Liverpool is actively pursuing the signing of Maghnes Akliouche, a 24-year-old right winger from AS Monaco, as they look to bolster their squad following the departure of Mohamed Salah at the end of last season. The French international is also a top target for Paris Saint-Germain, who have made several bids for him.
PSG’s most recent offer for Akliouche was approximately €40 million, which AS Monaco deemed insufficient.
With Salah’s exit, Liverpool’s need to strengthen their attacking options has become urgent. New manager Andoni Iraola has publicly acknowledged the necessity of acquiring a winger.
Liverpool Seeks Maghnes Akliouche
Iraola stated, “We definitely need to sign a winger,” emphasizing the importance of adding depth to the squad. Although the club has already secured the transfer of Victor Munoz from Osasuna, Iraola indicated that more reinforcements are required.
When asked about the number of signings needed, he replied cautiously, “It’s difficult to specify a number when the market is open. We need to remain open to new options to enhance the squad. There are clear situations where we know we need to sign players. A winger, for example, is certainly a priority for us.” This was reported, according to abola.pt.
Akliouche, who can play both as a right winger and an attacking midfielder, had an impressive last season in Ligue 1, scoring five goals and providing five assists in 31 matches. He was part of the French squad at the 2026 World Cup but featured in only one game. His speed and explosiveness, akin to that of Salah, coupled with his left-footed playstyle, make him a fitting candidate for Liverpool’s needs following the Egyptian’s departure.
In addition to Akliouche, Liverpool has shown interest in other targets, such as Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig, although the German club has been unwilling to negotiate for less than €100 million.
