The Vinci Fund belonging to the Bank Gospodarstwa Gospodarstwo Group invests over PLN 40 million in Iceye, dealing with radar observation of land from space – BGK informed on Monday. The company has already sent 54 microsatellites with SAR radars to orbit.


As BGK emphasized, ICEYE satellites already use the governments of countries such as the USA, Brazil and Japan for defense and protection against cataclysm. Ukraine also uses them. In 2025, the armed forces of Poland, the Netherlands and Portugal also signed contracts for the supply of satellites. Finland is to join the company's clients in the near future.
The Polish-Finnish ICEYE since 2015 is the owner and operator of the world's largest constellation observation microsatelites, equipped with a radar with a synthetic aperture (SAR). Since 2018, the company has placed 54 satellites in the Earth's orbit, both for the needs of its own constellation and for its clients. Used allows land monitoring around the clock, providing radar data in almost real time, with the possibility of performing another illustration at a distance of 90 minutes, regardless of weather conditions.

BGK pointed out that ICEYE plans to increase its production capacity to meet the growing global demand for satellite land observation systems and satellite data. The bank reminded that the Satellite Operations Center is located in Warsaw responsible for the global service of the ICEYE constellation, satellite planning team, and a research and development laboratory, in which key components are created.
Vinci does not exclude its further commitment to this company.

The MON contract with ICEYE provides for the purchase of three radar satellites with the possibility of increasing their number to six. The first Polish military satellite is to be taken to orbit in 2025.
