Independence Day of Ukraine. Zelanski turned to the nation

– Ukraine has not won yet, but it certainly does not lose. Ukraine won its independence. Ukraine is not a victim, he is a warrior. Ukraine does not ask, she proposes. Alliance and partnership. The best army in Europe. Advanced defense technologies. Experience of immunity – he said.
– We say: “We need a European Union.” Yes. But we are no less needed. And everyone considers it, and they consider Ukraine as such: not a poor relative, but as a strong ally – emphasized Zielnski.
Zełenski spoke in a symbolic place
The president spoke to the Maidan of Independence in the center of Kiev. This square was a place of protests, including against the pro -Russian policy of the then authorities, including the so -called Orange Revolution in 2004 and the pro-European revolution of dignity from the turn of 2013-2014.
Zełenski emphasized that Majdan is one of the symbols of independence and proof that “Ukraine has endured a great misfortune that Russia brought to our land.” He also expressed the belief that his nation, part of which is under occupation, would live in unity again.
– [Symbole niepodległości] They remind you that it's all Ukraine. And that there are our people there, and no distance between us will change it, and no temporary occupation will change it. One day this distance between Ukrainians will disappear and we will again be together as one family, as one country. It's just a matter of time. Ukraine believes that it can achieve this – achieve peace, peace throughout its land. Ukraine is capable of this – he assured.
Zelanski thanked the soldiers who defend his country for 1278 days, helping volunteers on the front and every citizen who works for victory.
– Thank you all for what we have already passed, and for the Ukraine we create together. For this Ukraine, which is now. Which matured on February 24 [2022 r., w pierwszym dniu rosyjskiej inwazji]. She took her fate in her own hands, took a weapon. She didn't have time to hesitate or the right to be afraid. And she really stopped the second army of the world. And we will talk about it (…), because it kills the myth of the invincible Russian army – said Zelanski.
The Independence Day of Ukraine is celebrated on the day of proclamation of the independence act, which took place on August 24, 1991.
