The former deputy minister of defense of the Russian Federation Timur Ivanov was sentenced to 13 years in a penal colony of general regime and a fine of 100 million rubles in the case of embezzlement and legalization of funds.
The investigation accused him of embezzlement of 216 million rubles when buying ferries for the Kerch crossing. In 2015, he instructed Anton Filatov as the general director of the company Oporonstroy JSC to acquire two ferries for the budget of Inter -Kommerz Bank. The difference between their value and the amount allocated by Oboronstroy JSC for the purchase amounted to 216 million, which were stolen.
In addition, according to investigators, Ivanov appropriated 3.92 billion rubles-in January 2015, the money was withdrawn from the Inter-Kommerz bank under fictitious agreements. There are also two episodes of receiving bribes in the list of charges.
Timur Ivanov was arrested in April 2024. During the debate, the prosecutor requested him 14.5 years in a general regime colony. He did not admit the guilt of the ex-minister, he asked for a fair decision. He was deprived of awards and taken into custody in the court building.
