The interim president of Romania highlighted some of the priority directions for Romania.
Energy interconnection
“First, energy interconnection. In collaboration with companies in the private environment, Romania has managed to develop important energy projects.
The plan for the construction of reactors 3 and 4 at the Cernavoda nuclear power plant takes important steps, and in the field of natural gas operating in the Black Sea, the Neptun Deep Strategic Project is essential for regional energy security, and we estimate that production will start in 2027 “said Ilie Bolojan.
He claimed that “It is essential to develop energy corridors on as many axes and to increase our energy security, and in the gas transport corridors at regional level, Romania capitalizes its strategic positioning.” And it reminded of the Iasi -Chisinau gas pipeline and the other projects that are being carried out to ensure the energy security of the Republic of Moldova allow its supply with electricity and natural gas largely from Romania.
Transport infrastructure
The interim president then spoke about the transport infrastructure, especially about the North -Sud transport corridors, which are still insufficiently developed.
“The North-Sud transport corridors remain insufficiently developed. For Romania, the road and rail infrastructure projects are priority via Carpathia and Rail-2-Sse. Apart from the highway sections already carried out, the entire Via Carpathia project on the territory of Romania is in the contracting phase of the works, on a length of almost 200 kilometers.
Maritime, Constanța, the largest port in the Black Sea, confirms its strategic position, as an important knot of the International Corridor of Europa -Caucas -Asia. In the context of the War in Ukraine and Romania's accession to the Schengen area, its importance continues to grow “said Ilie Bolojan.
He mentioned that our country has, together with the Republic of Moldova, designed new road bridges over Prut, these days the construction of a new bridge in Ungheni.
Regarding Ukraine, we consider the opening of new border crossing points and increasing the transit capacity of the existing ones, said Ilie Bolojan.
Digital transformation
The interim president also claimed that we are in a global competition for innovation and technological development and that you must “We collaborate to develop the state -of -the -art digital infrastructure in the region, and the IT sector in Romania can make a significant contribution to this level.”
“It is essential to understand that the success of this initiative depends on our ability to capitalize on private companies. The state cannot and should not be the only engine of development. Private companies bring not only financial resources, but also innovation and efficiency.
In these uncertain times, unity and solidarity are more important than ever. My urge is to turn the challenges into opportunities and build together a more prosperous, safer and more connected region “Ilie Bolojan said.
