A museum employee threw out a composition made from beer cans, mistaking the art object for garbage
The composition “Our best times together” by the French artist Alexandre Lave, exhibited in a Dutch museum, consists of two ordinary cans in a glass elevator shaft. The artist painted them himself with acrylic paints.
According to the creator's idea, the jars should be perceived as the garbage left behind by builders: they should remind of a friendly meeting and inspire visitors to look at things from a different angle.
However, the museum elevator operator looked at the composition from the most ordinary angle: he considered the cans to be garbage and threw them into a garbage bag. Fortunately for modern art, the curator of the exhibition noticed the loss in time and managed to save the art object.
