Zelanski talked to the President of South Africa. He wants this “pushing Putin into the room”
“We see that in Moscow they are trying to drag everything even more. It is important that the global noon sends the right signals and pushes Russia to the room” – noted Zelanski in a telephone conversation.
He informed that he had provided Ramaphos with information about joint diplomatic efforts made together with the partners and – as he emphasized – “productive meetings” with US President Donald Trump in Washington.
“You have to end the war, which was never needed to anyone but Russia. You have to stop the murder and destruction” – he wrote on Platform X.
Zelanski again confirmed his readiness to meet Russia's leader Vladimir Putin in any format.
The conversation with Ramaphos also concerned future contacts with partners and the possibilities of cooperation with African countries for the development of relationships, ensuring food safety and creating a dialogue platform. “We agreed that we would be in contact. Thank you!” – said Zelanski.
Ramaphosa in June 2023 participated in the African peace initiative, in which the leaders of several countries of the continent – including South Africa, Senegal and Zambia – visited Kiev and Moscow, calling for the end of the war and start negotiations.
