Tragedy on Lake Snagov. Father and son, drowned during the storm, were found after hours of searching

The firefighters were alerted during the Friday night to Saturday to find two people who were surprised by the violent storm on Friday night, according to ISU-Bucharest, reports Bucharest Bulletin.

A man and his son drowned, after they overturned with a kayak in water, on Snagov Lake, notes the Pro TV news.

The two were last seen around 6:00 pm. The divers searched for hours in a row with the help of sounds, but they could do nothing when they found them.

“Following the searches, the two persons were identified and extracted from the water, being declared dead by the on -site doctor. I intervened with the diving crew from the special rescue detachment, a towable boat (towed by an extinguishing vehicle), a mobile command point and 2 first aid crews,” the ISU said.

The victims are a doctor and his 13 -year -old son, according to sources quoted by G4media.

The municipality of Bucharest and Ilfov County were on Friday night under the attention of now casting of orange code of violent storms. Other areas of the country were also under severe weather warning.

In the capital, dozens of trees fell because of the strong wind and a person was transported to the hospital after a tree fell on it, on a sidewalk in Sector 4.

In Argeş County, three people were hit by a roof, according to News.ro. One of them died, two being transported to the hospital.

And in Prahova, a person arrived at the hospital after an acoperated fell on it. Vijelia also affected railway traffic.
