Pomeranian Drutex signed a three -year sponsorship agreement with the most titled German club. The producer of windows from Bytów has become a platinum partner of the club. Only four giants have a higher status German economy: Audi, Adidas, Allianz and T-Mobile. The owner of Drutek Leszek Gierszewski does not disclose the value of the contract, but talks about the contract going “in millions of euros”. “This is an amount that would allow you to buy a club in the Polish Premier League,” he admitted during a meeting with journalists.
The businessman admitted that he was repeatedly offered commitment to leading Polish clubs. – I had such offers. I met Mr. Jacek Rutkowski several times in the case of Lech Poznań. I also had an offer in the case of Lechia Gdańsk. And there were many more inquiries – says a businessman whose “Forbes” estate is estimated at approx. PLN 3 billion.

Windows from Poland go to 40 countries, but wire products are available in an even larger number of countries. – We act like an automotive industry – We produce and our dealers sell. And sometimes we learn that our products go, e.g. from Switzerland or France, to completely exotic countries – explains Leszek Gierszewski. Thanks to such a business model, the company has stability. Cooperation with dealers allows you to balance business and assumes risk diversification. – They are mostly small companies. None of my contractor has too much influence on our company, because if he dropped out, we would expose ourselves to shocks – he says.
The businessman talked about the backstage of establishing cooperation with the 34-time German champion. Before signing the contract, the company was verified by representatives of the Bavarian club. “If we were unbelievable, they wouldn't want to talk to us.” They really checked us. They arrived, saw the factory, verified our strength on the market and saw how an efficient company we are – says Gierszewski.
Drutex was already involved in Polish football at the local level. For 15 years he was the main sponsor of Bytovia Bytów – a club from the city where he produces and employs approx. people. It was abandoned in 2018 – we invested a lot in this project, although I wasn't even the owner of the club. We were able to do a lot. We entered the first league, we played in 1/8 of the Polish Cup against Wisła Kraków. We wrote a nice story, but I didn't like the way the club was managed. I decided to leave, even though I spent PLN 40 million on Bytovia for 15 years. I do not regret, but I was disappointed – he admits.
