The billionaire wants to build an airport in Bogatynia
As the portal Bogatynia.info reminds, the German businessman is loud in the upper Lusatian. It is known, among others As the founder of the Euroimmun company from the medical technology industry, which he sold for EUR 1.2 billion, as well as as a man who saved the historic department store in Görlitz.
His name also appeared in the media in the context of extreme right -wing statements and generous donations for the German AfD party. The billionaire also builds the Dżem Factory.
Now he came up with a new idea of building a luxury complex that would consist of a hotel and a golf course with a view of Lake Berzdorf. This area was to be taken over as early as in 2012. However, appropriate infrastructure would be necessary, including related to transport – i.e. the airport.

According to Stoecker, the lander in Görlitz, Rothenburg or Budziszyn are not sufficient for the needs of his investment. On the other hand, the airport in Bogatynia could be a complement to communication in the area between Dresden and Wrocław.
As he said to “Gazeta Saxony”, he is sure that it would be feasible in this city, because there is enough space for them. However, he has not yet provided any details about his ambitious idea.
