On Thursday, a bill reported by President Karol Nawrocki, which extends the freezing of electricity prices for households at the level of PLN 500 per MWH net until the end of 2025, was sent to the Sejm. The project was directed to the Legislative Office of the Sejm to provide an opinion.

Earlier, the president, by announcing his veto to the distance act also containing the provisions on freezing electricity prices for the fourth quarter, announced that he would report these provisions as his legislative initiative.
The presidential draft contains exactly the same provisions that were in the vetoed act. They provide for a change in the Act on emergency measures aimed at reducing the amount of electricity prices and extending the period in which households have the right to use the prices of electricity frozen at the level of PLN 500 per MWH net to December 31, 2025. Currently frozen prices are valid until September 30.
Compensation for energy sellers for sales at a frozen price are paid from the Covid-19 fund. They do not change in the presidential project. Their maximum amount is determined at just over PLN 4 billion in 2025 and almost PLN 1 billion in 2026 (PAP)
