Getlink, the company that manages the Channel Tunnel, announced on Wednesday that the technical problem that interrupted traffic in the tunnel on Tuesday has now been solved. Traffic in both directions has been resumed, the company announced in a statement.


“The Channel Tunnel power outage incident has been resolved overnight. Traffic has resumed in both directions,” the statement said.
The rail operator Eurostar also announced the resumption of services on Wednesday morning. “We plan to run all our services today, but due to the impact (of the failure – PAP), there may still be delays and last-minute cancellations,” Eurostar announced.
Apart from the cancellation of the train to Paris, which was scheduled to leave London at 6.01, the remaining trains in both directions are scheduled to run as scheduled. One train to Brussels, leaving at 6.16 from London.
On Tuesday morning, there was an incident related to a power failure for trains in the tunnel. All Eurostar services between London, Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels have been suspended. According to information on the Eurostar website, a total of 24 Channel trains were canceled.
The number of passengers on Eurostar trains increased to 19.5 million in 2024, which meant an increase of 850,000. compared to the previous year. Eurostar is the only carrier on this route, but in recent months several companies have announced that they intend to launch competing services through the tunnel.
