Hunger in the Gaza Strip. Israel's prime minister reacts. “Fully lie”

“The IPC report, like the previous ones, ignores Israel's humanitarian efforts and systematic thefts of Hamas,” wrote the Israeli prime minister on the website X. He added that “the fabrication of the IPC will soon be overthrown”, and the document published on Friday by this organization described as a contemporary version of anti -Semitic slander, which “thanks to the prioritization of the fire.”

“Hamas steals help”

According to IPC, currently 514 thousand Palestinians (i.e. almost every fourth resident of the Gaza Zone) is located in the fifth, highest phase of threat, described as a state of hunger and humanitarian disaster. IPC issued its assessment after the review of the situation in the Gaza Strip, which took over the period from the beginning of July to mid -August.

Netanyahu had already denied that hunger in the Gaza Zone, calling these reports to the lies promoted by Hamas. In the Friday response to the IPC report, the Prime Minister emphasized that from the beginning of the war with Hamas in the autumn of 2023, Israel enabled 2 million tonnes of assistance to the Gaza Strip, i.e. – as Netanyahu pointed out – above tons for each inhabitant. “This is an unprecedented effort in providing help on the territory of the enemy,” he added.

The Israeli leader wrote that Hamas steals help to finance his armed activities, which was the cause of “temporary deficiencies”, which, however, were overcome thanks to new activities that facilitate the entry of help.

Israel blocks help

From March, for over two months, Israel completely blocked the tributary of help to the Gaza Strip, which was translated as an action targeted at robbing Hamas transports. Later, deliveries were partially restored. In recent weeks, the authorities in Jerusalem have announced further steps to increase the influx of help.

According to humanitarian organizations, deliveries are still too small, and the Israeli authorities still use procedures that hinders transport. Israel accuses of assistance organizations, including the UN, that they are not able to distribute food already allowed into the Gaza Strip.

During the war of hunger and malnutrition, 273 Palestinians died, including 112 children, “the Gaza Zone, the Ministry of Health, said on Friday, adding that another two people died over the last day.
