Education holders left without hours would be satisfied with anything. “Do you have taught music?”/”I think” wow “what happens to the children, not new”
Dozens of teachers who were left without hours at the school level, after re-establishment, showed up in public meeting to identify a solution for them. A part is approaching the pension, others have been titled not many years ago. Most will teach this year in several schools.
The restoration of the classification, as a result of the increase of the didactic norm by two hours and the combination of the classes with small students (measures included in the set of austerity rules promoted in the full summer vacation), has over the entire education system. The directors woke up overnight with a major problem in the “yard”, having to find them to the school holders, first of all, two more hours to increase their teaching norm to 20 hours/week. Not in all cases it was possible, so dozens of titular teachers, at the level of each county, were forced to present themselves in a public meeting (for many you will need to come to other meetings), organized by the County School Inspectorate, and opt for hours available as a vacation.

Such a meeting took place on Thursday, August 21, 2025, in Slatina, in Olt County. The list of teachers in the restraint of activity or time completion included 44 names. Teachers of all ages, holders on: Romanian, French, history, visual arts, geography, mathematics, physical education, etc., together with teachers and educators.
In order to be able to choose from the available hours, it was necessary to submit a file with a multitude of documents, all those included in the file being evaluated so that at the end a score is granted. Depending on this score, the hours required for each one was distributed. For some of them it is a provisional resolution, for a year, others hope that they will not go through next summer through the same stress.
On everyone's faces, concern is read, even if I know the list of positions/chairs/vacations fragments and have thought what would fit them best. Others say that they would actually have hours through schools, which the directors, for reasons known, do not announce as free. It is certain that I can only choose from the official list, and if they do not find reasonable variants (in schools as close to home), they are also satisfied with “mosaic”. Those in the rural area are, in fact, accustomed to such solutions, I would like questions like “Music you have taught?”, Or “Do you want two hours of drawing?” The answer is “yes”.

For some teachers the situation is resolved quickly. There are no more for the same hours, there are hours available in schools in the area, so the search is over. But others are in a lot of thoughts. I do not find as many as they need, I do not find in the second specialization (those who have), they cannot do “mosaic” … “I understand that remedial hours can be given. Could I take it? ”it is heard sometimes, after variants have been researched. And the remedial hours become a solution. Obviously, for a school year only, and the searches will be resumed in 2026.
The educators and teachers who came in the meeting have lost their job altogether, in their case there is no question of completion. For some, the version found in the meeting is a compromise, but there are also situations in which it “happened well”. Such a case is that of an educator who for several years in a row has made the shuttle from Slatina to the eyebrow, that is over 120 km daily. The expense was not settled in the last three years, about 1,200 lei a month. He has finally found a post available at a kindergarten right in Slatina.

“I wanted to leave, I tried to Pretransfer and I had not succeeded and I had tried to file a file and I wanted to see what was happening at the detachment. But because I had the opportunity … “, explained the educator.
A teacher from the Strejeștii de Sus School was also left without a job, after 32 years in school, following the restoration of the classifications. “The classes were combined, being two IV classes. I teach for 32 years in school, I am from the locality. I have three years to retirement. For me it was not good, but that is. The solution has been able to stay in kindergarten this year and next fall will be made again two classes, because there are no children. Stay in the meeting … “the teacher said, for “Truth”.
Another teacher, with a 27-year-old at the chair, is also in a position to complete her norm. He taught, only in Vișina Nouă, geography, history and social education. Now, to manage to gather the 20 hours, he will teach in four schools.
“In view of the norm enlargement, it has come to this situation. There are several effects, because the number of children has decreased, being in the rural area. It is also taught simultaneously. Now I have completed music and drawing to my school and social education in other schools. Now I teach in four schools, before we teach in one ”, said the teacher.

Another Romanian language teacher woke up overnight that he needs several hours that he could not get, to be sure of them, than in a public hearing. The director of the school teaches the same discipline, but says the teacher, everything is volatile, no one can guarantee that the director does not give up the position and returns to the post, in which case he will have to look for hours again. The same restraint to accept hours that are lawful of school principals had, in fact, many other teachers in the situation of completing their norm.
“We are in a restriction because out of ten classes in a school we stayed with seven classes. School in the rural area. We were three structures and the classes were joined. It took ten and 12 from another side and a class was made. On the Romanian language we were two teachers, the director and me. The director is 20 hours and I needed it. I found in a village, close, but also what I found … they will probably get into a restriction over some time. I said it was a moment solution, however, to have the guarantee that in the middle of the school year I do not go elsewhere. I have eight hours left in the old school and another 10 hours where I took today ”, said the teacher.
The teacher argues that such events affect the teachers, but more harm is done by children. “I don't even know how it will be, it's something at night. It is certain that we find ourselves (n. Red. – hours). The holders find, the ones with grades over 7 and who do not have in the title in the next stage, but those who come out of here are spinning and sucking are those children that in the morning you bring. We have a minibus, but we are struggling for 12 km, that's why we were three schools. Now, we will simply have to take the children from the end and bring them to the center. This will mean that the minibus will bring all the children to the center – there is also a bordered school – I think it will take two hours to them. That we already have small children we were carrying to school. And now a joke will come out. I think we will start the hours somewhere at 9.00 – 10.00, and some children will arrive from 7.30-8.00 in school, because it has to come with a teacher or a leader. The leaders will then have to go to bring their children to the village. Children lose, that we find ourselves after all. At the end of the public hearing there were very few unsolved cases. The 12 teachers in the restriction of activity each received a position for an indefinite period, instead in the case of norm completions, things did not stay for all. “I had 32 cases of norms, people who were left without the full number of hours (you know that the norm raised from 18 to 20 hours). Seven between them were solved, the other 25 were solved today in the public meeting, with two exceptions: in physical education and sports – where there was only one candidate, The hours available today, waiting for another meeting for vacancies (n. Red. – the teacher refused the variants offered because they were provisional) ”, declared the general school inspector Mariana Gheorghe.
The next public hearing will be organized on August 26, when you can present for hours that the candidates who have supported the title contest this year and who registered grades over 7. There are fewer positions available for them, the list being diminished to the 12 attributed to the teachers in the restriction of activity and to the hours allocated to those with the norms.
