At the age of 92, Leonard Lauder, honorary chairman of the Estée Lauder Companies group and son of the founders of the brand, died – reports Reuters. He joined the company in 1958.

It is him that the company owes his evolution from a small family business to the cosmetic empire with lots of known brands in a portfolio, such as Clinique, La Mer, The Ordinary, Mac Cosmetics and Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. Estée Lauder products know every Polish woman, in particular the iconic Double Wear foundation.
Leonard accompanied his mother at work from an early age. After graduating from the School of Business at the University of Columbia, he officially joined his family company – it was in 1972 – he took over the reins from his mother, the famous creator of Estee Lauder.
In 2024, the company was a cosmetic giant operating in 150 countries, with sales of $ 15.6 billion. It was in his time (in 1995) that the company entered the stock exchange.
Currently, Estee Lauder is the third largest cosmetics company in the world, after the French giant L'Oreal and the British-Dutch company Unilever.
Steve Forbes, the editor -in -chief of Forbes Media, said Lauder's death is a “loss for the world.”
In the statement, Estée Lauder emphasized that Leonard Lauder has been playing many functions in the company for years, and his contribution to the company's development was “invaluable”. He left as a figure extremely respected in the world of business and philanthropy.
