Canoist Cătălin Chirilă caught the final on a distance of 1,000 at the Milan World Championships

Cătălin Chirilă (27 years old) was the second in the first semifinal of the canoe sample 1 – 1,000 m and will compete in the fight for medals on Saturday, from 3:48 pm.
Cătălin Chirilă looked much better on the water on Friday, in the semifinals of the canoe sample 1-1,000, much better than Thursday, when it was the fourth in the penultimate act of 500 m.
The Romanian started slower, was the fourth at 250 m, the third at the middle of the race, the first at 750 meters and the second at the end, where it was exceeded with only 0.06 Adolf Balasz from Hungary.
Chirilă ended the race in 3: 56.22, and the Hungarian in 3: 56.16. In the fight on the medals, Sergei Tarnovschi from the Republic of Modova with a time of 3: 56.89 was also qualified.

In the final of Saturday, 3:48 pm, Wiktor Glazunow (Poland), Pablo Crespo (Spain), Shengyue Wu (China) will be present, qualified from the second semi-final, but also Martin Fuksa (Czech), the Olympic and Mondial Champion, Stefanos Dimopoulus (Greece) and David Bauschke (Germany) T, those who have direct access from the series, where they were ranked first. Cătălin Chirilă is the European champion of the test.

On a distance of 1,000 m, Chirilă has a gold in 2022 and a silver in 2023.
Romania participates in the World Kaiac-Canoe championships with eight athletes. Kaiacist Bianca Istrătescu stopped in the series in the K1 -1,000 m test, and Georgel Bărăgău, Ioan Mihai Rotundu, Andrei Roşioru and Braulio Flores-Mateescu stopped in the semifinals. Ilie Sprîncean and Oleg Nuță will evolve on Saturday in the semfinals of the canoe 2 – 500 m.
