Thailand offers free internal flights for foreign tourists visiting it

The Minister of Tourism and Sport, Sorawong Thienthong, intends to ask the cabinet a budget of 700 million Baht (18.5 million euros) for an initiative to attract at least 200,000 foreign international tourists to various destinations in Thailand, writes the local press.
Sorawong said on August 20 that the Ministry of Tourism and Sport will present the cabinet next week the proposal to allocate the budget to the Tourism Authority in Thailand (TAT).
The initiative “Buy international flights and you have free internal flights in Thailand” aims to encourage foreign visitors to explore destinations beyond Thailand's main tourist cities.
TAT will work with six internal airlines – Thai Airasia, Bangkok Airways, Nok Air, Thai Airways International (Thai), Thai Lion Air and Thai Vietjet – in common activities to stimulate Thailand's tourism industry as an economic growth engine.
“The initiative aims to attract at least 200,000 foreign tourists, covering destinations in Thailand, with a special emphasis on the cities designated by UNESCO, popular tourist places and key destinations in the country,” explained Sorawong.
Foreign tourists who purchase standard airline tickets to Thailand through airlines websites or directly with Thai Multi-City options, or through Fly-Thru/Chec-Through services from Thai Airasia, Thai Lion Air and Thai, or through online travel agencies (OTA), will receive free tickets for free tickets for free shower tickets for free tickets for free tickets Internal flights, along with the free of charge of a 20 kg luggage.
