On October 5, Rangers fired manager Russell Martin after only 4 months in office. Martin's successor, 39, is even younger: 36-year-old coach Danny Rohl.
This morning, Rohl led his first Rangers practice. He signed a contract valid for two and a half years.

“It's a huge privilege to take on the role of head coach at such an incredible, globally recognized club. I know it's been a difficult start to the season, but there's still a lot at stake across the 4 competitions. Myself and my staff will give it our all to reward the fans and the club.
The expectations here are clear. Fans want to see results now. My mentality is to think the same and I believe in the players, I think we can do it,” Rohl said.
The German had a very short career as a footballer, performing at a low level in Germany. He retired at 21 after a serious injury.
He started in coaching in 2011, as a “second” in the junior teams of RB Leipzig. He reached the first team in 2014, first as a video analyst, later as Ralph Hasenhuttl's “second”. He was also his “second” at Southampton, then worked in the same position at Bayern Munich and at the German national team under Hansi Flick.
Before Rangers, Rohl was head coach only at Sheffield Wednesday, in England's second division. There he has a record of 30 wins, 18 draws and 33 losses.
