Romania is, for the first time, the country invited to the 2025 edition of Base, one of the most relevant exhibitions of contemporary art in Turkey, an event that attracts about 20,000 visitors annually. With the support of Trendyol, main sponsor and cultural partner of the event, Romanian artists will have the opportunity to exhibit their work in Istanbul in November, along with over 150 emerging artists from Turkey, within a special, curatory section.
The exhibition will include works from fields such as painting, photography, video, graphic design, visual communication design, textiles, traditional arts, glass, ceramics, sculpture or animation, made by artists currently studying or have graduated in the last ten years relevant art or institutions in Romania.
The initiative is supported by Trendyol Art, the company's cultural program, created to bring art closer to the general public through collaborations with renowned contemporary artists in Turkey and, at the same time, to provide independent new opportunities to expose and market their works. Through this program, Trendyol has already supported over 150 independent artists from Turkey, giving them a digital platform through which they can bring their creations to millions of people.
Interested Romanian young people are invited to send their portfolio in PDF format (including all works), together with the CV with the contact details (e-mail, telephone number and address) at the address [email protected]until September 14, 2025. Optionally, they may also include the link to their Instagram account.
Recognized as one of the most relevant exhibitions in Turkey for fresh graduates, Base brings together about 150 artists from all over the country. Each year, the main exhibition is complemented by special projects carried out with international partners, such as trendyol, reaching a total of over 450 exhibited works. The event attracts about 20,000 visitors annually – wide public, collectors, galleries and professionals from creative industries.
The same mission to support the artists at the beginning of the road can also be found in the trendyol art initiative, whereby almost 1,000 works signed by over 150 artists are available on the Trendyol application in Turkey, covering a wide range of disciplines. The program supports cultural diversity, artistic dialogue and discovery of new talents, both through the online platform and by supporting famous international events, such as Base and Contemporary Istanbul.
