Another violation of our airspace from the East confirms that Poland's most important mission towards NATO is the defense of our own territory – wrote on Wednesday the deputy prime minister, head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski. He announced that there would be a protest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs towards the perpetrator.
An unknown facility from Tuesday to Wednesday fell and exploded in the field of corn in the vicinity of the town of Osiny in the Łuków poviat in the Lublin region. This is a military drone, most likely the so -called A lure, devoid of a combat head, containing only a small amount of explosives – passed the source similar to the Ministry of Defense.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski, referring to the case, wrote on Wednesday afternoon on platform X that “another violation of our airspace from the east confirms that the most important mission of Poland against NATO is the defense of our own territory against NATO.”
In connection with the incident, proceedings were initiated, which is initially conducted in the direction of art. 163 of the Penal Code, i.e. a crime of bringing a direct threat to human life and health.
Grzegorz Trusiewicz, the District Prosecutor in Lublin, announced that five prosecutors were working with him on the spot, including the Military Department. The ongoing places of the incident will also be attended by experts in the field of air accidents and explosives.
The army takes up for the research
The disclosed parts of the drone found in Osiny (Lublin) indicate the use of explosives – the prosecutor's office said on Wednesday. Investigators stated with “very high probability” that there was an explosion.
Grzegorz Trusiewicz District Prosecutor in Lublin during a press briefing in Osiny said that a military expert dealing with explosives and confirmed earlier civil expert findings came to the scene.
– he pointed out with very high probability that the disclosed parts of the drone indicate the use of explosives; We are not able to indicate what the explosives were, their quantities and the composition of these materials – he said.
He added that “There is a very high probability – certainly bordering – that there has been an explosion.”
“I confirm that there is a break in the ground,” said the prosecutor. As he supplemented, in the cornfield you can clearly see the “epicenter”, i.e. a circle with a diameter of about 5-6 MIO, about 50 cm deep.
Still – the producer and country of the origin of the drone are unknown. He admitted that at the moment he was not able to determine if the drone hit the ground, whether he exploded in the air or what was the reason. He stipulated that investigators had already collected a lot of information, but precise research should be carried out in laboratory conditions.
Trusiewicz announced that An expert from the Military Institute of Armament Technology in Zielonka is also heading for the placewhich is to help the prosecutor's office to precisely determine the type of device whose remains were found in Osiny. On -site inspection and search for device elements are underway. Technicians, police, military gendarmerie and WOT are involved in activities.
Kosiniak-Kamysz: Provocation
Deputy Prime Minister, head of the Ministry of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced on Wednesday that the object that fell under Osinami in the Łuków poviat is a Russian drone. As he emphasized, this is a provocation of the Russian Federation, which occurred at a special moment when discussions about peace are ongoing.
– We are dealing with a provocation of the Russian Federation, with a Russian drone. Russia provokes once again – said the head of the Ministry of National Defense during a conference in Warsaw.
He informed that he had had a briefing with the most important commanders. – We talked to all the services. Such severance pays in the Ministry of the Interior and Administration at the Ministry of National Defense. It is the cooperation of all services of the ABW, SKW, military gendarmerie, the police, which first intervened. All our allies who are also informed on a regular basis – he mentioned.
He assured that the Ministry of National Defense is also in contact with the head of the National Security Bureau Sławomir Cenckiewicz, as well as with the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He added that Deputy Prime Minister Radosław Sikorski would take appropriate diplomatic steps.
