Minister of Education, asked whether or not the school will start in time: very hard to tell you

The Minister of Education, Daniel David, said on Wednesday night, that it is very difficult to say whether or not the school will start on September 8, given the dissatisfaction of the employees in the system and the fact that they announce protests.

The Minister of Education, Daniel David, was asked, on Wednesday evening, on B1 TV, whether or not the school will start, reports News.ro.

“Very difficult to tell you, honestly and directly, but my message was, for the people in the system, that these measures are crisis measures, not reform. We do not like them, I do not want them, you realize that I would not have wanted the minister of austerity and the one who must implement them,” the Minister of Education replied.

He said that he asked the people in the system to start the school and find solutions on all problems, including based on budget projections for next year.

“Let's start the school, let's build some rational projections in the medium and long term, to see what budget we can have next year, to see what other changes we can bring to help us and, when the fiscal-budgetary measures will show their effects and stabilize, let's not forget that many of these measures are temporarily,”

The fiscal-budgetary measures adopted by the government have dissatisfied the education employees, they constantly organizing protests and threatening with the general strike.

The trade unionists met, in June, with Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan to discuss the dissatisfaction that the measures adopted to reduce the budget deficit, and in the end they announced that the prime minister listened to him, but did not seem to have heard what they had to say. Under these conditions, the trade union leaders said that they will boycott the beginning of the school year.

“The measures taken by the Government are based on the possibilities that the budget of Romania and on the realities of the education system are currently,” said Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.

The school year begins on September 1, the students' courses will start on September 8.
