The spokesman for the defense forces of Israel, General Efi Defin, announced on Wednesday that the army began the first phase of the planned attack on the city of Gaza – the main urban center of the Gaza Strip. Soldiers are already controlling the outskirts of the city – Defin told journalists.
The Israeli government announced the intention to conquer Gaza at the beginning of August. Defense Minister Israel Kac approved the operation plan from Tuesday to Wednesday. According to media reports, the campaign conducted in several phases is to take several months and start with resettlement of about 1 million civilian gauze.
For several days, it has already been informed about increased fights in the suburbs of Gaza.
