Deputy Prime Minister Tanczos Barna denies that there would be exceptions to the prohibition of cumulation of the pension with the salary: “Our primordial objective is to reduce the privileges”
The government is preparing an ordinance that the state employees will no longer be able to accumulate the salary.

People with retirement age can continue to work, in companies or state units, until the age of 70, if they give up the payment of the pension. The measure will also apply to military and former police officers, said Deputy Prime Minister Tanczos Barna, who added that exceptions are provided and that the measure will be applied “immediately”.
“Our primordial objective is to reduce privileges, to build a company that is based on work. It is the most important element of these reforms, so that the state's expenses with the non -communic. The Romanian state in the form of a salary, in the form of allowance, in the form of a special pension, to receive amounts reported in proportion to the work submitted or to the activity submitted ”, explained the Deputy Prime Minister. “Here, of course, there is a need for a very clear delimitation of work and benefits in the form of pensions and that is why we propose that these amounts do not cumulate.”Tanczos Barna told Digi24.
The Deputy Prime Minister added that the pensions of police or military are targeted in this project. “But we have this proposal not to accumulate the pension with the salary, for example, which will refer to the military and former policemen. It is an absolutely normal thing. If you have retired at 50 and you have re-entered the state, it does not seem normal to accumulate the salary with the pension. It is a substantial reform that will apply immediately.” said Tanczos Barna.
“It is not normal for young people to receive unemployment allowance, while other people accumulate salary and pension, occupying that job that would be available, theoretically for a young man who starts his career in the state administration, for example”, he explained.
