Marius Borg Hiiiby, the son of the inheriting princess of Norway, was charged for 32 charges, including four related to rape, reports Reuters.

Hiibiby, whose mother is the Mette-Marit inheriting princess, and the stepfather is the Haakon inheriting prince, the future king of Norway, is to be tried at the beginning of next year and risks up to 10 years in prison if found guilty of the most serious accusations.

The defendants, made public on Monday, include the rape of four different women, conjugal abuse on a former partner and the illegal filming of several women, including in intimate hypostases, without their knowledge or consent.

He is also accused of outrage, as well as violations of road legislation.

One of Hiiby's lawyers, Petar Sekulic, said: “Our customer denies all accusations of sexual abuse, as well as most accusations related to violence. He will present a detailed account of his own version before the court.”

Norwegian prosecutors extended the investigation into the son of the inheriting princess

In June, Hiibiby had already been charged for 23 crimes, including three charges of rape, by a police prosecutor, before the file was sent to the State Prosecutor.

It is assumed that Hiibiby would have raped four women between 2018 and November 2024. All alleged aggression would have taken place after a consent sex, while women were sleeping. Hiibiby is accused of filming them all during alleged rapes.

Presenting the indictment against Hiibiby on Monday, Sturla Sturla Sturla prosecutor said: “This case is very serious. Rape and violence in close relationships are extremely serious acts, which can leave permanent traces and destroy lives.”

Hiiby's status as a member of the royal family, he added, “does not mean that he will be treated more indulgent or more severely than if the similar acts were committed by other people.”

The maximum punishment for the crimes in the indictment is 10 years in prison, HenriSBø said.

The state prosecutor, who appears to have deliberate for a month and a half whether or not Hiibiby was charged and for what facts, he said that the trial could take place in January and could extend about six weeks.

Hiibiby has no noble title and is not in the line of succession to the throne. The Norwegian Royal Court transmitted: “It is the jurisdiction of the courts to analyze this issue and to reach a decision. We have no other comments.”
