Francois Provest, the new general manager of the French car group Renault SA, analyzes a plan that provides for the elimination of 3,000 positions in the field of support functions, according to the L'Fină news portal, taken over by AFP and Agerpres.

Baptized “Arrow” (English no. Arrow), this plan would be completed by reducing by 15% of the number of employees in the fields of support functions, including human resources, financial and marketing, both at the Boulogne-Billancourt neighborhood and other entities within the group at the world level (factories, commercial branches, etc.)

Contacted by AFP, the Renault group said that he has not yet made any decision on his herds, but confirmed that he had started an analysis process.

“In the context of the uncertainties in the car market and against the background of an extremely competitive context, we confirm that we consider aspects of simplification, speed of execution and optimization of our fixed costs,” explained the car manufacturer.

Like its competitors, Renault operates on a crisis market, resulting in decreased sales in Europe, new European regulations and intensify Chinese competition. His adjusted profit decreased by 69% in the first half of the year.

However, the Renault group is doing a little better than most of its competitors in Europe, its main market. Thus, his sales are increasing in the European Union, by 5.8% between January and August 2025, according to that.

Comparatively, its main competitor on the French market, Stelantis registers a 9.5% decrease in registration since the beginning of 2025. The group, with 14 brands (Citroen, Fiat, Peugeot, etc.), will temporarily close its European factories, including three in France, in October.

Renault Group is in the forefront of a mobility that reinvents itself. With a unique electrification expertise and benefiting from its alliance with Nissan and Mitsubishi Motors, Renault Group is based on the complementarity of its four brands – Renault, Dacia, Alpine and Mobiliza – and proposes to its customers sustainable and innovative mobility solutions.
