President of the District Court in Piotrków Trybunalski, judge Marcin Oleśko informed PAP on Monday that on August 13, the court complained about the court's decision to extend the temporary arrest of Sebastian M.

“Recognition of the complaint belongs to the competence of the District Court in Piotrków Trybunalski, which was transferred to the case of the case along with the complaint on August 13, 2025.” – explained judge Marcin Oleśko.

Judge Agnieszka Leżańska, spokesman for the District Court in Piotrków, in an interview with PAP confirmed that the files of Sebastian M.'s case are already in court and a judge was appointed who will consider a complaint. The deadline has also been set when the court will recognize the defender's request.

The District Court in Piotrków Trybunalski on August 1 extended the temporary arrest of Sebastian M. to December 24, 2025. The man is accused of causing a fatal accident in September 2023 on the A1 motorway near Piotrków. A family of 3 was killed then-parents and their 5-year-old son.

– The court relied on the content of Article 249. The Code of Criminal Procedure, assessing that the evidence gathered indicates the high probability that the accused had committed the act accused of him. He also applied special premises regarding the fear of escaping or hiding the accused, fears of mathematics, hindering criminal proceedings, and also, due to the threatening severe punishment, in this case it is eight years in prison – judge Marcin Oleśko, president of the District Court in Piotrków Trybunalski, said on PAP on PAP, after the end of the court.

Defender Sebastian M., patron Katarzyna Hebda announced a complaint against the court's decision. She also did not want to reveal the arguments for her client to leave the arrest. She added that she would apply for the repeal of this preventive measure in favor of non -insulating funds.

In September 2023, Sebastian M., leading BMW at an excessive speed of the A1 motorway near Piotrków Trybunalski, hit the Kia riding in the same direction, which was traveled by a family of three from the Śląskie Voivodeship. The car hit by BMW stood in flames. Parents and their five -year -old son died on the spot.

Sebastian M. after the accident was not detained by the police and escaped abroad before the prosecutor's office managed to question him. He was brought to Poland from the United Arab Emirates on May 26, 2025 and by a court decision in Piotrków Trybunalski, imprisoned in temporary detention.

In July 2025, the District Prosecutor's Office in Katowice sent an indictment to the District Court in Piotrków Trybunalski against Sebastian M. He faces a penalty of up to eight years in prison. The trial of Sebastian M. will start in September. The court has already set six consecutive dates – two in September, October and November. (PAP)
