In the BKZ area in Krasnoyarsk, a unique stone -age artifact was discovered – a scraper for cleaning clothing from snow made from a mammoth tusk.

The find was made even during preparation for the construction of an above -ground pedestrian crossing from the world Square to the BKZ, but it became known about the results of its study only now. This was reported by Komsomolskaya Pravda – Krasnoyarsk with reference to the Department of Urban Planning.

As the doctor of historical sciences Alexander Kolesnik said, the scraper was made using complex technology. Ancient people first chopped off a piece from a frozen mammoth tusk, and then processed it already in the warmth, cutting out a hole for the cord. It is assumed that he was worn on clothes to always have at hand.

Scientists note that such a find is not accidental. The climate on the shores of the Yenisei in the Paleolithic era was much harsher than the modern one: in winter the temperature could drop to −39 degrees, therefore, devices for cleaning clothes from ice and snow were vital.
