“Ukraine may not be able to stand it.” Zelensky responded to anti-Ukrainian rhetoric from Prague

The journalist asked him to comment on the opinion of representatives of the current Czech government: the longer one supports Ukraine, the longer the war will continue.

“I don’t think there is a need to check this, I’ll be honest. Today Ukraine is being helped, and Ukraine is restraining Russia. And even if someone in the world has a different opinion, it’s risky to check this without helping Ukraine. Ukraine may not be able to stand it, and then there is a risk that Russia will go further,” Zelensky replied.

The President of Ukraine emphasized that everyone can make mistakes, and the price of a mistake can be “very high.”

“If you are wrong, this is a big risk for Europe, for any state regarding Russian aggression, that it will continue. And who will withstand what Ukraine can withstand? […] In my opinion, it is reasonable to choose assistance to Ukraine, because Ukraine is Europe, and Ukraine defends itself fairly. We were attacked. And therefore, even in the moral aspect, it is right, I think, to support Ukraine. The question is volume [поддержки]”, Zelensky said.

He also recalled that Ukraine professes European values, therefore “it is right to support Ukraine today.”

“It is already clear that the world is helping Ukraine, has united around Ukraine, and not around Russia. That is, the whole world recognizes, even those countries that do not help Ukraine, they recognize that Russia is the aggressor. There will be an end to the war and people will remember who was on which side,” Zelensky emphasized.
