On Wednesday, three international meetings took place before the Friday conversation between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. One of the teleconferences was organized by Donald Trump. During this meeting, Poland was represented by President Karol Nawrocki, when the others were Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

The head of the President's Chancellery Zbigniew Bogucki informed about the backstage of the meeting on Telewizja Republika.
– I can say that President Karol Nawrocki participated in the conversation very actively and referred to what we will celebrate in two days, i.e. to the anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw 1920. He said primarily to Donald Trump, but everyone heard that in 1920 Poles, supported by Ukrainians, detained this procession of Soviets not only to Poland, not only to Warsaw, but all over Europe. And that he wishes a similar victory, of course in a different dimension, because diplomatic, in these conversations with Putin – said the head of the president's office.
Danuta Holecka, who talked to the conversation, said it was one of the twenty most important battles in the world.
– This was also emphasized by President Nawrocki in this conversation – Bogucki pointed out. – That it was the most important battle from the point of view of Polish history. And one of the most important in the history of the world. If we did not stop this red plague then and did not rush her to the east, then all Europe, not only Poland could be infected with this virus of communism, which we saw, which the ruins brought – he added.

Backstage of a teleconference with Donald Trump
Earlier, Axios informed about the words of Karol Nawrocki. According to the portal, Trump told the participants of a teleconference that during a meeting with Putin he wants to suspend their weapons – what Putin has rejected so far – but also that “he is not from the region”, so he cannot make any final decisions in territorial matters. He added, however, that the conversion of territories may be necessary under the agreement.
“Trump said that Vladimir and Volodymyr must discuss the territory matters among themselves, not with him,” said the interlocutor of the portal.
According to one of the participants of the teleconference, especially the hard position was presented by French President Emmanuel Macron, who pointed out that the meeting with Putin is a very large concession to Russia. Trump was not to like this comment. The German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and the Secretary General of NATO Mark Rutte were to be particularly active during the discussion.
According to one of the officials cited, Trump and his team are optimistic about the meeting and although Trump was not happy with Putin, it has already passed.
Another official said that this optimism is associated with the belief that both sides are tired of conflict, and the US have a sufficiently reliable position to lead to the end of the fight.
One of the interlocutors of Axios suggested that positive signals were also sent by the head of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sergei Ławrow during a conversation with the Secretary of State of the USA Marco Rubio.
– This meeting is not in a vacuum. It is based, at least in part, on the statements of Ławrowo. We'll see how much his word is worth – said the official.
