Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan told Digi24 on Wednesday that the second package of measures can only be adopted by committing the Government's liability, as the first was approved, and that he hopes that the approach will materialize “at the latest until the end of the month”.
“Given its complexity, given its size, it can only be adopted by assuming responsibility, in real terms, and I hope that at the end of the month, with all the delays we have, for objective or subjective causes, it will be adopted,” said the prime minister.
He said that Romania is in a “difficult” situation, in which we “need to correct things that have gathered in time”, and has drawn an alarm about the risks that exist if the measures are not adopted.
“We escaped the rating indicator in July (…), but if we do not adopt this package, again, we will get to the situation where we will enter a foundation (…). In vain did you increase some taxes if you do not cover the black holes that are in the economy. In vain did you take a single step if you did not take all the necessary steps to pass this axle,”
The prime minister confidently showed that “this difficult situation” will be overcome.
“I trust and do every day everything related to me and my colleagues to go through this difficult period, and I trust that if we respect the things we have to do, which are obviously seen, from any economic analysis, that we must be done, we will go through this difficult situation.
“Very high” risk of “inability to pay”
Bolojan says that without the appropriate measures it is “only a problem of time until things will end badly.”
“If we only do a package, as was the first package, or we will stop halfway, it is just a problem until things will end badly and actually the risk of entering the payment is very high due to the big financial pressures that we The evaluation, in October, at the Council of Finance Ministers, to be negative for Romania is quite large ”, warned the prime minister.
He claims that he will do his best to avoid such situations.
“I, as long as I am a prime minister, try to do everything about myself to avoid situations like this and I will do everything possible to convince all colleagues to go ahead,” concluded Ilie Bolojan.
