There is a legal solution by which prosumers can recover in 42 days the amounts of money due by suppliers in the network of energy delivered on the network, even if the law gives the suppliers to pay these invoices in 24 months, says the Association of Swesks and Energy Communities. It's about changing the supplier as often as possible. In this case, the former supplier has the obligation that within a maximum of 42 days from the porting to issue the final settlement invoice, that is, including all the invoices to the prosumer.

The organization refers to Article 19 of the Regulation for the supply of electricity, adopted by ANRE, which provides:
“Within a maximum of 42 days from the termination of the contract for the supply of electricity, the supplier has the obligation to send to the client the invoice with the final settlement related to the electricity consumption”.
According to the legislation in the energy sector, consumers have the right to change their energy supplier at any time, and he is obliged to allow the customer to be ported within 21 days.
The same legislation, however, stipulates that the suppliers can pay the prosumers for the electricity delivered in the network in maximum 24 months of billing, which has made that, from 2023, prosumers will have to recover estimated amounts at over 300 million euros from energy companies.

“From 2023 to this day, prosumers in Romania have been forced to offer the suppliers an interest -free credit line that we estimate at over 300 million euros. Nowhere in Europe there is such a mechanism that will allow 24 -month payment.
In addition, the suppliers received over 7 billion euros of public money during the energy ceiling scheme-amounts that were often a direct bonus for them, ”said APCE in a statement issued on Tuesday.
The association asked ANRE to modify the legislation and to introduce the monthly payment for the energy delivered to the network.
