Car thieves give up, but these models still like the most

The number of thefts is getting lower

Every fourth car deregistered due to theft in the first half 2025 was recorded in Warsaw. In the entire province Mazowieckie took place 40 percent thefts counted in this way. This is another period in which a decrease in car theft was recorded. The downward trend has been going on for four years. In 2021, the number of cars counted in this way exceeded 7,000 in 2022. 6,000 pieces. For comparison, in the worst in this respect in 1999, 71.5 thousand were deregistered in Poland due to theft. In 25 years, the number of thefts has fallen over thirteen times.

In the analyzed period, as in previous years, thieves most often liked in Toyota. Within half a year, nearly half a thousand Toyot disappeared from Polish streets, parking lots and garages, which is related to a large number of registration of Japanese cars on the Vistula. However, if the number of cars deregistered due to theft is combined with new cars registered in the same period, it turns out that the higher factor was recorded for three Peugeots, BMW and Audi.

Considering the models, Toyota Corolle and SUVs: Toyota Rav4, Toyota C-HR and Hyundai Tucson were most common. The top ten also included a place for two “vans”: Renault Master and Fiat Ducato.

Every region is a different taste of thieves
